You can visit the Maldives on a number of visas like Business Visa, Work Visa, Family Visa and Student Visa. For a tourist visiting the country, a Tourist Visa is required which allows 30-day stay, and can be extended to 60-days. No pre-arrival Tourist Visa is required for entering the Maldives. The visa is issued at immigration, on-arrival, free of cost, under certain conditions and only on-possession of the right documents. 

In case you are planning to extend the trip, you will need to apply for an extension of the Tourist Visa at the Head Office. Here you will have to fill the Visa Extension Application Form and pay the required fee. After an examination of the funds for the required number of days, you may be permitted to extend the stay.
